The Backstory
A few months ago, I found a fabric that reminded me of my mum. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35 and passed away 10 years ago. I knew that this fabric had her name written all over it – and so it was clear that we actually needed to name what we made from it, after her!
Despite being sick for most of her life, she was selfless and poured out all her time and energy for others. It was only fitting that we opened the door to all of you beautiful women to help us design a one-of-a-kind collaborative piece!
The Process
First, we asked you for your initial ideas. You sent in all your thoughts, sketches, photos and dreams. It took a week to sketch all the beautiful options, and then you all voted on the designs on our Instagram page. We whittled our way down to 3 styles and then eventually down to 1.
We then fine-tuned each tiny detail of the winning design, and showcased the journey throughout the patternmaking, trim-sourcing and sampling process.
Every decision at every stage was voted on by you, moulding this piece as your very own. After numerous pattern alterations and rounds of sampling, this is the beautiful outcome!
You should all feel very proud. Mum would have loved it.
The Dress
As voted by you, we can safely say that this dress is the perfect length and the perfect fit!
Beautiful pin-tuck details on the shoulders, stepped in pockets, fully-lined in high-quality cotton, durable trims, strong zips and a classy detachable belt.
The most exquisite blush pink linen, too!
